Codey Harrison: (Lead Editor, President/CEO) – The Arizona Diamondbacks official Twitter page announced they have completed a trade sending shortstop Stephen Drew to the Oakland Athletics for minor league shortstop Sean Jamieson. The trade partners were expected to complete a trade for Stephen Drew before the July 31st non waiver trade deadline, ultimately Drew ends up in a Athletics jersey anyway.

After being rumored to the Athletics heading into the July 31st deadline, Stephen Drew has finally been traded to the Oakland Athletics. Athletics GM Billy Beane pulled high way robbery in this trade, as all he gave up was a 23-year old shortstop who was in the Low A Midwest league. Although Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers seemed to like the newest Diamondback Sean Jamieson saying he has good power, and speed. Jamieson will report to the AA Mobile Baybears, and will likely be blocked by current highly touted shortstop prospect Chris Owings in Mobile.

The former 17th rd draft pick Jamieson batted .234, .345OBP, .379 SLG, with 10 home runs, and 25 stolen bases with the Burlington Bees. While his trade counterpart Stephen Drew who missed nearly an entire calendar year due to a broken ankle was batting .193/.290/.311 which are all career lows in only 40 games this season. As if now this trade appears to be the Diamondbacks pawning Stephen Drew off on the Athletics to get off of paying the $1.35 million dollar buyout for the 2013 season.
