MLB Diamondbacks vs La Dodgers Game 2 of 2 SWEEP!

Go Hard or Go Home is my Mottto in baseball.

Trevor Cahill flat nasty today on the mound

Trevor Cahill Flat Nasty VS LA Dodgers

Today the pitching arm of Trevor Cahill would prove to tuff for the Dodgers star studded staff. The dodgers would jump to an early lead on Matt Kemp getting hit by a pitch and Adrian Gonzalez would hit a single that would score both Kemp and Shane Victorino. Paul Goldschmidt would get the Dbacks on the board when he singles to right field. Goldy would then steal 2nd base and Miguel Montero would draw a walk. While Montero was batting Aaron Harang would throw a wild pitch and Goldy would take 3rd. The error by Harang would come back to bite him when Justin Upton hit a sac fly to get Goldy in. In the 6th inning the Dbacks would put this game away when Goldy walks, Montero walks and Justin Upton singles to left field and Goldy scores from 2nd. After a pitching change by the Dodgers to former Marlin Randy Choate Gerardo Parra would single on a ground ball and Montero would score to take a 3-2 lead. Trevor Cahill would go 7 innings and allow 2 runs on 4 hits with 7 strike outs a very good outing against a playoff contender. David Hernandez would come in to close the game and get the save for the Dbacks his 16th save. the bullpen for the Dbacks comes through for the 2nd straight game pitching scoreless innings. Offensively not the best night for the Dbacks as no one records 2 hits but Paul Goldschmidtwould set the tone for the team with 1 for 3 performance scoring twice and 1 walk.

Justin Upton

Justin Upton would bring a spark to the middle of the order something that has been lacking lately and go 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and get a series sweep for the Dbacks. For the Dodgers Luis Cruz continues to be the only consistent bat in this line up as he goes 2 for 3 on the night. Adrian Gonzalez would go 1 for 4 and get the 2 RBI’s for the lead early but the blockbuster deal the Dodgers made has become the blockbuster bust as of late. Matt Kempjust 5 for his lat 40 with only 1 home run in his

Matt Kemp struggles just 5 for last 40.

10 games going back to 9/1/12. Kemp has not been the same player as he was in spring or before his run into the Rockies outfield wall. I don’t think he is playing at 100% in fact he maybe be around 70% but his team needs to have him in the line up if they want to make a playoff appearance i think he maybe hurting his team more than he is helping and could probably use a good week off to heal. plagued with injuries this year only playing 89 of the 145 games played this year and in my opinion should drop the Beastmode nick name and give himself some time to heal. There is no doubt he is a game changer when he is healthy but in order to be a beast you have to be on the field and able to compete. The dodgers need to get more production from Kemp, Hanley Ramirez, Andre Ethier and Gonzalez ( 1 for 14) if they want to chase down the Giants who lead now by 7.5 games with the Dbacks quietly sneaking up on them.

AAA Reno Aces vs The Omaha Storm chase Omaha Storm Chasers

The Aces would loose game 2 of the 5 game series to the Chasers by the score of 9-6. The chasers would jump to a early 2 run lead by the top of the 2nd inning but the Aces would not go quietly as they score 1 in the 2nd to make it a 2-1 game. in the 5th the Chasers thought they would run away with this one with no challenge scoring 5 runs in the 5th on 3 home runs and 2 singles. The Aces would answer their 5 runs with 4 runs of their own on a double by Ryan Budde, a Wladimir Sutil single, a Josh Bell single, and a monster home run from Mike Jacobs to show Omaha the Aces would just not go away. The Chasers would score 2 more in the 7th to take a 4 run lead before the Aces would add a run late in the 8th. Daniel Cabrerawould get his 2nd loss in the post season going 4 innings and give up 5 runs on 6 hits.

1st Baseman Mike Jacobs continues to rake in the playoffs.

Mike Jacobs would get the offensive player of the game going 2 for 4 scoring 2 times with a home run and 3 RBI’s. The series moves to Omaha where the series is dead even at a game a piece. In game 3 Joe Martinez will toe the rubber for the Aces as they look to take the series lead.

AA Mobile Baybears vs Jackson Generals

Mobile would win Game 1 to a score of 7-2 to Beat the Generals in their house. Mobile would score 1 in the 4th on 2 doubles and 5 runs in the 5th to take a huge lead 6-0. The Baybears would hit 3 doubles and a single with a home run to put this game away. Michael Freeman the offensive player of the game goes 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. David Holmberg would go 6 2/3 innings and give up 2 runs on 5 hits and earn his first post season win on the year.
