Diamondbacks Minor League Recap 8/23/12

It was a great day in the minor leagues for the Diamondbacks Organization as all 3 Dbacks teams get the win today!

AAA Reno Aces VS Fresno Grizzlies Game 2

A lot of things went terribly wrong for the Fresno Grizzlies tonight. First I will start with the pitching… Joe Martinez for the Aces is the veteran leader of this team And when he takes the field the defense behind him knows they will get his best stuff. For Two innings that’s just what Joe Martinez gave the Aces before taking a piss missile off of his throwing arm just above the wrist off the bat of Conor Gillaspie. Joe would try to tuff it out and stay in the game but just couldn’t grip the ball, he threw two warm up pitches after being hit and the first went 15′ high into the backstop and the second Konrad Schmidt had to jump for. So Joe would exit the game with 2 IP 5 hits 2 runs 1 ER and hand the ball over to Mike Demark. Mike Demark with 3 shutout innings giving up only 1 hit and 3 strikeouts gets the job done and gets the win. Sam Demel would throw 1 shutout inning and Jensen Lewis would throw 2 scoreless innings. The BIG man Jonathan Albaladejo would get his 23rd save on the season after getting himself into trouble loading the bases. with the bases loaded he would throw a ball into the dirt that would squirt away from Konrad Schmidt, the big man hustles to the plate as Konrad dives for the ball he throws it to Jonathan covering home and gets the out! one of the best plays i have seen all year by Konrad Schmidt. Albaladejo would slam the door on the Grizzlies as the Aces get the win 5-2. The other story tonight was the Hot bat of Konrad Schmidt, he would end the night 3 for 4 with a double & 2 RBI’s. Cole Gillespie was also 3 for 4 tonight scoring 2 runs & 2 doubles. Taylor Harbin was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 RBI’s and a walk. leaving the game early was Joe Martinez with a contusion to his throwing arm, Adam Eaton
would leave the game early on what looked to be a groin injury he suffered during a pickle between 2nd and 3rd.

Tomorrow is game 3 for the series and toeing the mound for the Aces is RHP Daniel Cabrera (0-0, 1.5ERA) VS LHP Brian Burres (4-6, 5.74ERA).

AA Mobile Baybears VS Jackson Generals game 4

Chase Anderson would be pitted against Taijuan Walker in a game where Anderson would get the win giving him a 5-3 record on the season. The Baybears would pounce on the Generals in the fifth inning scoring 1 but that would be in on offense. Taijuam Walker gets the WIN band Chase Anderson get the loss.

A Visalia VS SAN JOSE

Visalia Rawhide jump all over the San Jose in the first inning scoring 5 runs in the first and 2 more in the 2nd inning. visalia with 5 players with 2 or more hits. Anthony Meo gets the win 9-8. Ryan Bradley gets the loss on 8-7
